Scarlett is one of those people whose confidence will out shine their fears. She holds herself high, almost regal and is always composed and calm. She always compliments people and makes them feel good about themselves, while allowing them to get comfortable with her, she manipulates them with a bat of an eyelash, a wink or a sweet laugh. She thinks of her as a seductress of the mind. She likes be in control of most situations and have the people around her wrapped around her finger. It is very hard to break her composure in public. Behind close doors she is blood thirsty on revenge for those who mock her, threaten and attempt to ridicule her.
As the king and queen readied for their third child, they could only hope for a boy. When pregnant with her third child the queen became ill and was constantly ordered to stay in bed for days upon end. Hearing wind of what people were talking about of how she might miscarriage or have a still birth, she was devastated with this talk. For months after being on bed rest her time had come to give birth. With the midwife at her side and the king holding her hand, she knew she must find out the fate of her child.
Hours after the queen laid in bed, eyelids heavy and forehead covered with sweat. Her eyelids fluttered as the midwife held something in her arms, something crying. She tried sitting up to grab it but was forced to lay back due to pain. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she reach outward for her baby. The midwife cleaned the baby and handed it to the King who had been at the Queen's side. He smiled down at the small infant and leaned toward the Queen, bringing the baby closer to her. She smiled a tired smile as the baby wrapped it's finger's around the kings and to know her baby was okay.
Scarlett became a lovely young lady who always wanted to be like her mother. Scarlett's mother would sit Scarlett next to her while the Queen chatted with other royals, this made Scarlett feel as if she was mother's favorite. Of course though she kept that to herself. She would often lead her younger sisters by their hands around the castle and repeat what her mother said to her, "Chin high, eyelids lowered and walk as if floating". She loved being a big sister, especially because she could dress up the babies as if they were dolls. As she grew older, she became more graceful and calm. Her younger sisters followed her everywhere, making her feel as though she was their Queen. Her life was one out of a story book. When royalty from other castles came, she would dance for them, recite poems and show off her new dresses but how she loved to dance more then anything else. She wanted nothing else but to become a ballet dancer though when her father her of such a silly dream, it became dead. She wished and wished but knew it would never be, but she still kept her composure and enjoyed the life she had.
When turning thirteen Scarlett became a marriage candidate and was moved out from her room that she had since childhood that held her other sisters and was moved into her own. The change made Scarlett sad and fidgety, always worrying about her sisters. With this change came more truths, as she heard from the servant over the years she had only known of one older sister but when she found out there was a second, what could she say? She wondered about this sister. She had known that her older sister was a twin but she always thought the twin died, because that happens with babies sometimes. Days went on as she thought about this, as she was taking a stroll outside the castle with her mother, she decided to ask her about the twin. When hearing this the Queen turned cold, and walked away not saying a word. Scarlett didn't know were to turn so she let the matter slip away.
She knew her mother would want an apology for such a outward question so that night she went to her mother's room to apologize. As she walked down the hall, she heard noise of struggle. As she pulled up her dress to run she fell and scrambled to get up again. As she rounded the corner she heard only but aggressive breathing and pulled her back behind the corner, peeking out. She saw was looked to be her older sister..but then looked closer and realized. It was the twin. She didn't know what to do but when she looked up to see her again, she was gone. The door was ajar to her mother's room, the door the twin came out of, and only a dim light came from inside. As she moved her was down the hallway, along the wall, she froze when coming to the door and opened it slighting. She whipped out her fan from her dress pocket and threw it into the room, then listening for movement. Nothing. She scooted in, back facing the room and then turned slowly. The light from the dim fight showed a massacre. Her mother lied still on the floor. Her eyes teared but she blinked them away. She turned out of the room and slowly, using the wall for support walked towards her room. She sat on her bed and heard the noise of people screaming and chaos outside of her door. She looked at her dress and saw that the tip of it had blood on it from brushing the floor. Her eyes teared and closed, breathing calm.
Days after, the castle was dead. The King sat in the throne room, but did not move. Her sister's were sent to family and it was only her left. She couldn't stay here in this castle anymore. Her emotions were nothing but dead. She acquired some servant clothing and put her valuables in a small bag and she moved out quietly. As her journey began she had nothing but a few coins and her fan. A few months passed and as she walked along yet another road she came upon a couple. This couple had been arguing, yet the wife noticed Scarlett watching and motioned with her eyes towards the man. As the man saw her wife gesturing, he backhanded her and turned to grab Scarlett for intruding, but Scarlett moved under her grasped and pulled her knife from his belt loop and putting her back towards the woman, in a protective stance. She had never been the one to resort to violence but this freedom and anger in her made her quite revengeful. The man came after her and was confronted to the knife in his throat, she moved sideways, slicing it open. As Scarlett realized what she had done, she released the knife and the man, backing up and bumping into the lady. She was stunned and nothing came out of her mouth. The woman looked to her and then to the man and tears welled up and as Scarlett began to move away to run, the lady grabbed her and squeezed her into a hug. "Thank you so much, thank you.." Scarlett stood there in stunned silence and the woman saw and explained that she had went to see a assassin about her husband months ago and told them where they would be but she hadn't been sure if they would have come but they did! Scarlett couldn't believe what she was hearing. This woman thought she was an assassin. She looked to the woman who fished around in her pocket and pushed a sack of money into her hands. The woman swung her cloak over Scarlett's shoulders and thanked her, walking away without even a look towards the dead body. Scarlett looked to the man then the money then to the man again. His blood seeped into a pool near her feet. How easy money is obtained through whims, she thought.
She thought on the idea after that experience. Her lack of shock when she killed the man scared her a bit, but when she had she felt this feeling of release. She took the money the lady gave her and set towards a town where an abandoned Inn lay in ruins. She took the money the lady gave her and put it toward the Inn. It took time to learn her trade, to learn how to be secretive about it. She knew she couldn't come right up in the open, so she made slips of paper with the scribbles of "The Fan Dancer" and on the back she scribbled that she took care of any man that becomes to much to handle. She slipped these papers into anything she could find. ( It said to contact The Fan Dancer, that you must go to the Belladonna Inn. From there you will hand the owner an envelope with a letter of who you want assassinated, why and a picture. You tell the owner that "This is for someone who dances with fans." and leave without another word. The owner does not know anything but is paid to hold it for the Assassin. You will come back in three days and you will ask "Did the dancer dance?" the owner will shake her head yes or no, yes means your person will be assassinated, no that you have been denied. The price is expensive. To lore the victim she'll try numerous approaches but her big hit is posing as a fan dancer looking for a good time. )
Later on she developed into a lovely adult. Now at 17 she feels that life is getting good for her. She redid her Inn into half of Saloon and half an Inn for weary travelers with all new furnishings. Although with the life she has now and how happy her success makes her really doesn't fill the whole where her mother and sister's were. One day though she hopes to regain communications with all of them....well perhaps not all of them.
